A bit about Jason
I’m Jason, a principal product designer drawn to the intersection of human behavior and technology. It’s why I studied Cognitive Science before I ever designed a product; I wanted to understand how people actually think and decide, not how we assume they do. That curiosity still drives my work: I care less about how an interface looks than about how it makes someone feel and behave. So I start every project close to the people I’m designing for, grounding decisions in their real frustrations and problems rather than my assumptions about them.
I’ve applied that lens across fintech and consumer tech: JPMorgan Chase, PayPal, Intuit, and Roku. Most recently, I crafted the information architecture and navigation of a CRM platform used daily by thousands of bankers. Money is one of the most behavioral and emotional things people deal with, which is exactly what makes it such rich design territory, whether the user is a consumer managing their savings or a professional doing their job.
The way I work is hands-on. Static mocks can’t show how something feels with real data and real interactions, so I prototype in code, get to something tangible early, and use it to align teams and pressure-test ideas. I lead the way I design, as a player-coach: close enough to the craft to prototype next to the team, and just as focused on leveling up the designers and practices around me. Underneath it all I hold my work to a simple standard: clarity over cleverness, honesty over polish, and designs that quietly earn trust.
